This study investigates the link between heightened aggression and competitive video games, particularly those prominent in the E-Sports scene. Our hypothesis posits that competitive games tend to elicit aggressive behavior in gamers. Data gathered from survey participants supports this hypothesis, showing a correlation between competitive gaming and increased aggression. Given the evolving nature of video games and their communities, further investigation is warranted, particularly into gender-specific behavioral differences, and comparing these results with studies on the emotional effects of non-competitive, narrative-driven games could provide more comprehensive insights.
