In 2023 Street Fighter 6 introduced the Modern Control Scheme to make the game more accessible to new players. This innovation sparked controversy within the Fighting Game Community, as some players felt that the simplified inputs for combos and special moves gave Modern Control users an unfair advantage over those using the more complex Classic Controls. Seasoned players preferred Classic Controls, while newcomers gravitated towards the Modern Scheme for its ease of use. Our research focuses on comparing the win rates of Street Fighter 6 characters using Modern versus Classic Control Schemes over January, February, and March using the data released by CAPCOM. We meticulously analyzed player performance across various ranks to determine how each control scheme impacts gameplay and progression. By examining these win rates, we aim to understand the effectiveness and balance of the Modern and Classic Control Schemes, as well as their influence on player experience and community dynamics.
